AUTHOR Q & A: Lizzy Ford ( + Omega Beginnings Miniseries!)

Before we dive into the world of Alessandra in Omega, Lizzy Ford introduced us to the eight short stories of each character in Omega which she called, the Omega Beginnings Miniseries. But before we talk about it, I had the opportunity to interview this amazing writer of several young adult, new adult and adult romance novels.

lizzyford

Lizzy Ford authored over forty titles written for young adult, new adult and adult readers, including the internationally bestselling “Rhyn Trilogy,” “Witchling Series,” “Zoey Rogue” and the “War of Gods” series. Lizzy’s books span multiple subgenres of romance, to include contemporary, paranormal and dystopian, among others.

Lizzy has focused on keeping her readers happy by producing brilliant, gritty romances that remind people why true love is a trial worth enduring. Her books have been featured in Publishers Weekly, Romantic Times, USA Today, Huffington Post, Kirkus Reviews, and many other places. She lives in southern Arizona with her husband, sister, three dogs and a cat.

Q & A:

1. When did you start feeling the need to write all these amazing stories in your mind?

I’ve always felt my calling was to become a writer. I think when I was nine years old, I first really KNEW it was my fate. But … I kind of lost track of the dream for a very long time or at least, didn’t follow it the way I should have. It took me a while to find my way back to my dream but I did it in early 2011 and have been so happy since then!

2. How does it feel that your readers are loving your books?

It’s honestly a surreal kind of feeling. I love my stories and I love telling them, but when I first started, I was really surprised other people liked my stories, too! I write them for me most of the times and what I would like to read, so it’s an incredible feeling to create something that’s special to me that others love as well. I feel very honored to be able to do this for a living and to share stories with strangers and hopefully touch their lives.

3. What is Omega all about? Where did the idea started?

“Omega” is my second young adult series about the strong, brave and golden hearted eighteen-year-old Oracle of Delphi coming of age in a world that’s been destroyed by war between the Greek gods and humanity. She has to help save her world using the power only an Oracle possesses. There’s a strong political element to it as well, partially because it’s set in Washington DC, where she must determine who she can trust to guide her into becoming the heroine her world needs. She’s surrounded by amazing characters, too: Silent Queen, Grotesque Prince, the Mercenary, High Priestess, Supreme Magistrate, Shadow Titan, and the People’s Champion.

I first thought of it when I was walking down the Strip in Las Vegas, of all places! My husband and I go to Vegas a couple times a year because of his job, and I was admiring the display outside Caesar’s Palace and thought – I’m not so much interested in Roman history as Greek. Maybe I should write a book about Greek gods in a modern world like ours.

From there, it snowballed, and I started writing soon after!

4. Have you always been a fan of Greek Mythology? (Because I am! That’s why I’m really excited for your book!)

I’m a fan of all things ancient. I love mythology in general and reading about ancient peoples from all around the world.

5. There’s these Omega Beginnings Miniseries you wrote. Tell us about it and where we can buy it 🙂

The Omega Beginnings Miniseries consists of eight short stories and introduces the characters from “Omega.” It’s set twelve years before “Omega,” and I refer to it as a game of tag whereby all eight of the major characters from “Omega” are drawn into the story.

It starts with five-year-old Alessandra, who awakens the Grotesque Prince, who goes on to touch the life of the Silent Queen and so on. The eight characters are linked – but won’t know that until they meet up in “Omega.”

The episodes of the Miniseries are available for free in ebook from Amazon, Amazon UK, Barnes and Noble, iBooks, Kobo, Sony and Smashwords (which has the Kindle version, because sometimes Amazon is slow to set them free!)

6. How does it feel that even though Omega isn’t released yet, readers are eager to read it already?

Awesome! This series is going to be so amazing! I have such cool plans for the second and third books! I’m so happy people are interested!

7. Who influenced you in writing? Any favorite author?

My favorite author of all time is Jane Austen. I learned from her how to make characters flawed and redeemable. I’m huge about character driven books. Her writing was a great influence on mine!

8. What are your favorite books?

My all time favorite fiction book is “Pride and Prejudice!” For the most part, I read outside the genres I read in. I read a lot of non-fction and on occasion, epic fantasy.

9. Thank you so much Lizzy!

Thank you all for your support and for all the love and smiles you’ve brought into my life. I hope my books can do the same for you!!

Be sure to check the amazing prequel to Omega! Get to know the six out of eight characters in this awesome young adult epic fantasy! The miniseries are for ereading only 🙂

AUTHOR Q & A: Kate Squires ( + Chapter 1 of I Will Catch You !!! )

Have you always been a fan of romance novels? The type to-go crazy for or the one we can’t help but read in a day? Well, the works of this wonderful writer are the one for you!

10449906_1444599645794810_903629838593424703_n

I had this amazing opportunity, to interview the woman behind the charming & romantic Contemporary Romance novels – That Kiss & That PromiseI Will Catch You KATE SQUIRES!!! She talked about the new book she released, I Will Catch You which is definitely should be added on your to-read list! Synopsis and the first chapter (Thank you so much Kate!) at the end 🙂

1. When did you start to feel the need to write these amazing stories in your mind?

I started somewhere in early 2013. I’d just read the Fifty Shades of Grey Trilogy and thought to myself, hey, I could do this too! I liked the fact that her books were quick reads and I realized that I wanted to write stories that took readers hostage, so to speak, like E L James’ books did to me. I started with a simple principle: Friendship that grows into more. I only had a desk top computer at the time, which my kids regularly highjack, so that really wasn’t an option. I ended up writing That Kiss, in its entirety, on my iPhone 4s. I remember sitting at home writing on it (in the ‘Notes’ app) for six and a half hours straight. I thought I was going blind the rest of the day!

2. How does it feel when your readers are loving the books?

Oh, my God, it’s the best feeling in the world! I make a point to answer every email and private message that comes to me and some of my sweet fans just want to tell me how much they liked my books. It’s amazing knowing the stories that are constantly forming in my brain are loved by so many people. Keep the messages coming!

3. Who inspired you to write? Any authors out there?

Colleen Hoover, Jamie Maguire, E L James, of course, there are lots of Indie authors that rock as well! Jennifer Probst is very special to me. When I was just starting out, and I hadn’t published a thing, I emailed her for advice. She was kind enough to answer right away, at length, and has done it every time since. She said something like: “I was where you are. Keep going. You can do it.” I was star struck, to say the least. But it was when she told me she vowed to always answer reader mail that I had true respect for her. I too, took that vow, and because of her kindness, I put her on my dedication page in That Kiss.

4. Tell us about That Kiss and That Promise

That Kiss is about two people who grew up together as best friends. They never thought of each other as anything else. Then one day they share a kiss. It changes how Chloe looks at Matt, but then they lose contact. Five years later, they meet up accidentally. It’s then that they each wrestle with the notion of taking their relationship from friends to lovers. They go through a lot of ups and downs, having an ex-girlfriend come sniffing around and all, so Chloe’s best friend, Drew, is there to help. (He’s everyone’s favorite character) In the sequel, That Promise, Chloe and Matt are back with even more angst than the first one. Here, a Russian male dancer runs interference between our couple, not to mention Matt’s ex is back too. Do they stay together, or was it a mistake from the start? Well, you’ll have to read it to find out.

5. What genre do you love to read? I can see romance is one of them, right?

Romance is my absolute favorite genre to read! I like adventure and a bit of paranormal too, but any subgenre of the romance category is usually my go to selection.
6. So your new book, I Will Catch You, what is this about? Will we swoon over the characters in this book? 😉

I’m so glad you asked! This book is different from the first ones in that my female character, Sydney, has a damaged past. She meets a genuinely nice guy (Ryan) and fights her heart all the way. She doesn’t want to believe guys like him exist. Just when she starts to give into her desires, her past comes back to smack her in the face. Between her reluctance and her troubled past, can Ryan show her he’s different? You’ll have to visit Amazon or Smashwords to find out!

7. Where can we buy these books of yours?

All of my books are available at Amazon.com, Smashwords.com and Createspace.com
They’re available in both paperback and as ebooks for all ereading devices.

8. Last two, and very random, haha, what’s your favorite book?

My favorite book…hmm. That’s hard. At the moment it’s between Hopeless/Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover, and her Slammed series (Slammed, Point of Retreat, and this Girl) I also liked Confess and Ugly Love too. Beautiful Disaster by Jamie Maguire was my favorite for a long time though too.

9. I see that in your jobs, you are helping people and I can’t see where you put your time to write your books but how does it feel that aside from these jobs, you are also helping us, your readers, be inspire with your works?

If I can inspire just one person, like E L James did for me, then I’ll be very happy. I do all I can to help other aspiring authors with helpful hints, tips, and tricks to writing/publishing their own works of art. I’ve gained a lot of author friends and readers who would love to start their writing career. I offer them the wisdom of my own mistakes as what not to do. (Believe me, I’ve made a lot.) I hope that if my name passes through someone else’s lips, it’s to say how nice and down to earth I am, and that I inspired them in some way.

10. Thank you so much Kate! And so sorry if these are too many. Last one, your message to all your readers!

I love, love, love to hear from you! Please don’t be shy. If you want to ask me anything, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Also, if you find a book you love, please leave us a review or at least tell someone about it. You have no idea just how much that means to us!

CHAPTER 1:

It’s finally five o’clock. I’ve been counting the minutes until my stressful time in front of my office computer ends, and I get the weekend all to myself. I look two cubicles over to my right to see if Georgia has finished whatever it is she’s been working on for the last week. As I stare in her direction, I notice others in our large, but segmented room, gathering their things in haste to go home to their lives. I finally see movement from Georgia’s workstation. She peaks her head out from around the gray wall that divides us. Her long, blonde curls tumble off her shoulders, and we make eye contact. I smile knowingly, and her expression mirrors mine. I know exactly what this weekend will hold for us, and I just can’t wait to get it started. I stand and walk toward her.

“Are you ready to get out of this stuffy office attire and hit the bar?” I ask, with my purse slung over one shoulder.

“God, yes,” she says in her small, squeaky voice, then exhales loudly while sagging into her chair. “Mr. Hicks is killing me with all this extra paperwork. I swear, he could hire two more people to help, and we still wouldn’t be able to get it all done.”

I nod, understanding how she must feel. Georgia gathers her purse from the desk drawer, pushes her glasses farther up her nose, and stands shakily. Neither of us has had much time to stretch our legs today. As she smoothes her skirt down toward her knees, Mr. John Hicks comes strolling by.

“Georgia,” he bellows. “Did you get all the papers done that I laid on your desk?”

“Y—yes sir, I did.”

“Even this stack over here?” He plops down a thick stack of type-written paperwork on the edge of her already piled up work station. Her body slumps slightly at the sight of the massive mound in front of her. “I’ll need this done immediately, Everett.” His expression is almost one of amusement, as I’m sure he knows, this could take her all night.

“But Mr. Hicks, I was just about to leave. Can’t I start on this Monday?”

He rubs his chin and seems to contemplate his answer.

“Well, I suppose it isn’t anything that can’t wait.” He walks closer to her and puts his arm around her shoulders. “But, you’ll owe me one.” He winks, and I almost audibly gag. As he walks away, I turn to face her.

“Why the hell are you putting up with shit like that from him? He’s a disgusting pig! You need to tell him to back off!”

“Sydney, I can’t. I need this job.”

“There’ve got to be other jobs that don’t include a boss who feels the need to put his paws on you.” The look on my face must be one of disgust because she wrinkles her nose.

“I know. I don’t like him much, but this job pays well and…” She shrugs her shoulders.

I roll my eyes. She’s never been the aggressive type, and she tends to let people walk all over her. I think that’s why we’re friends. I’m here to be her backbone, and she’s here to make sure I don’t do anything reckless.

“Let’s just get out of here,” I say, as I toss my long, brown hair behind me.

We walk toward the elevators, press the down button, and step inside.

“I really need to have a good time tonight,” she says.

“Me too. Of course, we always do,” I remind her.

She nods her head, in agreement, and the elevator descends.

Georgia and I walk through the entrance to The Rusty Nail, and the familiar smells hit me. A combination of old wood, leather, and sweaty dancers. Hmm, it smells like a good time, as usual. We wait our turn, to pay the five dollar cover charge, and start looking around for a seat. The décor is rustic. The walls are lined with old looking barn wood, and horse tack hangs all around. Neon beer signs are the only modern looking things in here, besides some of the bar-goer’s non-traditional dress. As we walk a little way in, the main bar is to our right. I chuckle inwardly, as I recall some of the early days of trying my hand at drinking. The thought of it makes me glad I don’t do that too often. The large dance floor is in front of us, though we have to wade through a sea of tables and chairs to reach it. It’s surrounded, on three sides, by patrons sitting on bar stools. They watch the dancers twirl and stomp, as they rest their drinks on the railing in front of them. Beyond the dancers is the stage. Many local bands have played on it; some of which I know on a first name basis. There’s a small booth to the right of the stage. It’s painted black, and a DJ sits waiting for the band to take a break. Like the bouncers and barmaids that work here, I know him by name, and he knows exactly what I want to hear without a second thought. While I take in the sights and sounds, Georgia points in the direction of two open stools. We walk quickly, as seats in this very large, but very popular place, are hard to find.

“What do you want to drink?” I shout over the loud country music, which comes from the stage.

“Um…the usual,” she states, and I nod.

I make my way through the crowd of people, sometimes I have to shimmy sideways through them. Finally landing in front of a barmaid, I order two drinks. As I wait, I keep my eyes focused straight ahead, hoping none of the single men that surround me have had a glass of courage yet. She hands me two bottles. I give her some cash and head back over to Georgia. I smile as she fidgets on the stool. Abruptly, she turns to look at me.

“There you are! Let’s dance!” She dashes toward the hardwood dance floor and finds a spot. I barely have time to set the bottles on the rail before I join her.

We shuffle, pivot, and stomp our way through three songs in a row. Sweat is rolling down my brow, and I feel a line of it trickle down my nonexistent cleavage. I love dancing, but hate my new, altered look after one too many songs. We exit the dance floor to take a drink.

“How is it that you never look as bad as I do when you get done dancing to that many songs?” I ask her.

She laughs. “I don’t do it as vigorously as you do, Sydney. But then again, your dancing looks way better than mine.”

I give her an I-don’t-think-so look, and we open our bottles of water.

Georgia and I don’t make a habit of drinking alcohol at The Nail, as it’s been nicknamed. It’s too easy to wake up in a place you don’t want to be. We come here almost every weekend, sometimes twice, with one goal in mind: dancing. Occasionally, one of the regulars will come up and ask one of us to do a couples dance with him. His only intent is to dance. It’s relaxing to know that I can come out, have fun, and not feel like I have to fend off any would-be suitors. Soon enough, Mike, one of my usual partners, appears in front of me.

“Hey, Sydney. How are you?”

“Hi Mike! I’m great. You?”

“Can’t complain. Wanna dance? It’s a waltz.”

“I thought you’d never ask,” I say with a smile. I take his outstretched hand, and follow him to the outside couples ring.

In the Sweetheart hold, he leads me into the choreography. He’s aware I know the steps, but it’s a gentlemanly thing to take control of the woman. I don’t mind, but this is the only place that I’d let a man control me.

We finish, and as if on cue, Mike thanks me kindly, and reserves another dance with me for later on. He walks me back to my seat, and leaves to find his next partner.

“I love to watch you dance,” Georgia says.

“It’s a lot of fun,” I say, grinning from ear to ear.

As the night goes on, sometimes we get up and dance, other times we just observe and discuss the others on the dance floor. People watching can be very entertaining. Then, Georgia’s elbow jabs into my side.

“Ow,” I say, as I look at her, and then in the direction she’s looking. There, standing at the entrance, is a newcomer to our bar. He’s tall with a muscular frame, and sandy brown hair that sticks out slightly from underneath his black cowboy hat. He’s wearing a fitted black T-shirt, which seems to accentuate his physique. The sleeves are rolled up a bit, exposing his obviously hardened biceps. His blue jeans hug his nicely shaped backside in a very appealing way.

“Where the hell did he come from?” I ask, mesmerized.

“I don’t know, but he sure is nice to look at.”

I look at Georgia. I’m puzzled.

“I didn’t realize I said that out loud.”

“Yes, but you only said what everyone else was thinking.” She sighs with apparent appreciation for the fine specimen that just graced this place. “Wouldn’t it be great if he knew some of the dances?”

“Yeah,” I snort. “I’m not sure I’d remember to breathe, let alone dance.”

We giggle, and look away, trying not to stare.

Soon, a good couple’s song comes on. It’s a swing. I glance around the room for any sign of Mike. I’m disappointed to observe him leading some woman, a regular, onto the dance floor. My shoulders slump slightly. As Mike passes by us, he gives me a sympathetic half smile, and shrugs. I think he knows I’m disappointed.

“How ‘bout the next one?” he mouths.

I just nod, in agreement.

We watch the couples twirl by, then suddenly see the new guy step onto the dance floor with a very beautiful blonde woman. She’s tall, like him, and she too is dressed to show off her perfectly sculpted body. I haven’t seen her here before either, and wonder if they came in together. They face each other, and begin. He spins, and twists her all around, while adding his own flare. She doesn’t miss a step. Holy hell, they‘re terrific dancers. They easily steal the show, as they seem to capture everyone’s attention. It looks as though they might already know each other because it’s obvious they are in sync, as she follows his lead like she’s done it forever.

The song ends, and another begins but the world’s perfect couple exits the dance floor. I nonchalantly watch them head for the bar.

“Wow, they were really good, eh, Sydney?” Georgia says. But I’m still in awe over the display I just witnessed.

“Huh? What? O—oh, yeah…great dancers.” I stutter.

“Syd, what’s wrong with you?”

I snap quickly, out of my self-pity, and swivel my head to look at Georgia.

“Nothing’s wrong with me. I’m just pissed that Mike didn’t ask me to dance first, that’s all. He knows I like that one,” I grumble petulantly.

A new song begins. It’s a Cha-Cha. I don’t bother to look around for my usual dance partner because he knows, he owes me. Soon enough, Mike comes slinking guiltily toward me, and requests I join him on the dance floor. I comply, and he leads me to our usual position.

As we begin, I notice the newcomers are out dancing, but not with each other. Puzzled, I stare at the man as he twirls his new partner, all the while I’m trying to work this out in my head. Then, unexpectedly, he looks up, and his eyes meet mine. I’m unable to look away. While we both continue dancing with our partners, I watch as the corners of his mouth turn upward ever so slowly, in a very sexy smile. His eyes are mesmerizing, and almost seem to sparkle. It feels as though everyone’s dancing in slow motion. Is he flirting with me? I’m not sure. Just then, I trip over Mike’s foot, and almost face-plant. I don’t actually hit the ground, but I stumble enough to break the optical hold I have on Mr. Beautiful. I’m sure I look ridiculous, as I attempt to right myself.

“Oh, Sydney! Are you okay?” Mike asks. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to trip you.”

I’m jolted back into the here and now, as I step out of the way of the other dancers twirling around us, and brush myself off.

“Yes, I’m fine. It’s okay, Mike. It happens.” I’m hesitant to look back in the direction of the mysterious smiling man. “I’m gonna go back to my seat.” He nods, and follows me. When I subtly glance over where I last saw the man, he’s gone. I hope he looked away just before my clumsy maneuver, but I’m guessing he had a front row seat. I’m mortified.

“Jeez, Syd. Are you okay? I saw you almost fall,” says Georgia.

“I’m fine. Really!” I realize immediately, I’ve just snapped at my best friend, and feel terrible about it. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to bite your head off. It’s just that I feel like an idiot.”

“No worries. Most of the people out there right now will be drunk, and falling soon because of it,” she laughs. She’s right. I just wish that he hadn’t seen the whole miserable ordeal.

As the night wears on, I forget about the incident, sort of, and we continue with our fun. I haven’t seen Mr. Beautiful since, but it’s probably for the best, as I’ve embarrassed myself enough for one evening. The DJ plays a song. It’s a Two-Step. I do not Two-Step. That’s one dance where there are too many variables left to chance. I know the basic footwork, but the man can lead the woman into any number of twists, turns, and complicated maneuvers. That leaves me open to looking stupid, and I just refuse to go there. Mike even knows better than to ask me to do that dance. Not that he hasn’t tried, but I say no every time.

“May I have this dance?” asks a voice from behind me. Startled, I look at Georgia. Her eyes are big, and her mouth has fallen open at the sight of whomever she’s looking at. Oh, shit. I turn around on the stool to see who just spoke to me. I swallow hard, when my eyes, once again, land on the glinting blue eyes of Mr. Beautiful himself. I’m momentarily struck dumb. I quickly recover, and find my voice, though it’s shaky.

“Uh…excuse me?” I manage to squeak out.

He chuckles slightly.

“I asked if you’d like to dance with me. It’s a Two-Step. You know how to Two-Step, don’t you?”

Is he kidding me? This gorgeous man is asking me to go out and make a fool of myself. What the hell do I say to that? How can I refuse him? I’ve been ridiculously entranced, and on some level, fascinated by this very attractive god-like creature. But I don’t want to humiliate myself any more. How do I tell him, no, in a nice way?

“Um, sure.”

What did I just say?

“Great!” he says, with a big, beautiful, all-teeth-showing grin, which would warm any girl’s panties.

I blush furiously, and feel the temperature in the room rise. He takes me by the hand. It’s warm, and his grip has a masculine feel. It’s not sweaty like Mike’s hands tend to be. I look back at a wide eyed Georgia and she shrugs. He leads me to the outside couples ring. Stopping in an empty part of the floor, he turns to face me.

“I’ll start out going backwards, okay?”

I nod, and we position our arms. My right hand in his left, and his right hand at my waist. My left hand finds his rock hard shoulder to rest on. I smile apprehensively.

“Ready?” he asks, looking down at me.

My eyes are probably wide open, in an I-can’t-believe-I’ve-just-agreed-to-do-a-Two-Step kind of way.

“Wait!” I exclaim. “I only know the basics. Please don’t do anything fancy.”

He smiles. He has a very nice smile.

“I promise. Nothing fancy.”

Reluctantly, I nod, and we begin to move. We‘re going in a counter-clockwise circle, and I’m trying hard to concentrate. In fact, I’m looking at our feet, trying to make sure I don’t screw up. He removes his right hand from my waist, places his fingers under my chin, and lifts my head so that I’m looking at him. I gasp slightly at the contact.

“Eyes up here,” he says, fixing his intense gaze directly into my eyes, and pointing with the same two fingers, to his face. When he has my attention, he replaces his hand. Staring nervously into his kind eyes, our feet step to the rhythm. Quick, quick, slow, slow, over and over again. For the most part, he takes it easy on me, but there are a few times when I almost lose the rhythm, and mess us both up. Luckily, he’s very patient, not to mention he leads very well. By the end of the dance, I’m grinning broadly. I’m doing it. I’m actually doing a Two-Step. My heart is racing, at the thought of the song coming to an end. The nerve-wracking Two-Step is almost over. But then, our time together is almost finished too. That thought is sobering.

“Thank you very much for the dance,” he says, as the song ends. Then he gently lifts my hand to his mouth, and plants a soft kiss on the back. His lips linger there for longer than is customary. When he lifts his eyes to meet mine, my heart races again. I feel my cheeks heat.

“You’re welcome.” My response is breathy. And with that, he walks me off the dance floor, bows his head slightly, and disappears into the crowd.

“Sydney, you were doing a Two-Step.” Georgia looks shocked. “And with that gorgeous man, no less!” She pauses to let me speak, but I think I’m in shock too. “Sydney!” she shouts, to get my attention. I immediately snap out of it.

“What?”

Her expression begs me for details. I reluctantly smile.

“He’s a great dancer. He leads well too.”

“So, are you going to dance with him again, or did you at least get his number? What’s his name?”

His name. Shit, I never got his name! How stupid. I cover my face with both of my hands.

“It never crossed my mind,” I say, my voice muffled.

“You’re kidding.”

I shake my head.

“Oh, it’ll be okay. Maybe he’ll ask you to dance again. You can ask him then.” She slings one arm around my shoulders, trying to console me.

The rest of the evening flies by, but we don’t see the mystery man again. I chuckle slightly when Georgia suggests that maybe he’s the male version of Cinderella. But my pessimistic side kicks in, as I arrive at the conclusion that the tall woman he danced with first, may have taken him home. After all, why would he want me when he could have her?

It’s very late when I drop Georgia off at her apartment, and then drive to mine. We don’t live far from each other, so the commute is short. I turn the key in the lock, and open the door. Almost immediately, I hear the tell-tale sounds of claws hitting the ceramic tile floor. A black, shadowy figure leaps out of the darkness, onto my chest.

“Sequoia! Hi, girl. Did you have a good evening alone?” I ask my over exuberant German Shepard mix, as she licks the sweat of the night from my face. My ever faithful, non-human best friend, is always happy to see me. “Do you want to go outside, girl?” I open the door, and she dashes through it. I’m exhausted, and in desperate need of a shower. A few minutes pass before Sequoia is scratching at the door, wanting to come back in. After doing so, I head straight for my bedroom. My friend joins me, as we sit together on the bed.

“Hey, girl,” I say, as I pet her soft fur. “I danced a Two-Step tonight. Yeah, can you believe it? Me, Two-Stepping my ass off. Would you ever have thought it was possible?” She tilts her head to the side, and licks my cheek. “I know what you’re thinking. There must have been some extraordinary circumstances that lead me onto the dance floor for that.” I snort. “Would you believe it was a handsome face, and a cowboy hat?” She tilts her head the other direction, and lets out a quiet whine. “I know, I know, don’t worry. I won’t get caught up like that again. I think we’ve both learned a lesson from that, don’t you?” Sequoia places her paws across my lap, laying her head on them. “Yeah, never again,” I whisper.

After a few more minutes of quality, canine time, I hop in the shower. She waits for me on the bathroom floor, as usual. Lying down, she faces the door, as if to guard it. As I wash, I recall the events of the evening. I roll my eyes, as I remember the mystery man’s face, and my strange fascination with him. I’ve seen handsome men at The Nail before, so why on earth does he still haunt my recent memory? Lots of men ask me to dance, never to be seen again. What makes this one so special? I’ve got to get him out of my head. Chances are good, I’ll never see him again anyway, and I’m glad. Men are all the same, and I don’t need that kind of drama in my life. I rinse, dry, and after getting dressed, the dog, and I snuggle under the covers, and drift off to dreamland.

It’s been five years, but Chloe Shepherd has never forgotten that fateful kiss she shared with her childhood best friend, Matt Masen, after a high school graduation party…even though neither has mentioned it since.

Quote/s:

“He puts his hands on the wall, on either side of my head. “I need you. I need you like I need the air I breathe, like the sun needs the sky…””

REVIEW:

First of, I want to thank Kate Squires herself for the copy of this book! Thank you so much! Congratulations on your new book! (Be sure to check it guys, I Will Catch You.)

I’ve never been a fan of new adult contemporary romance because 1.) I’ve always been drawn to young adult novels and 2.) I can’t relate to it. But heck, this book might be an exception. Of course, I was kind of nervous while reading this book. I don’t know what to expect or feel. But then, as I read the first few chapters, it is actually interesting. It was written in a way for the readers to understand the scenes perfectly. The pacing was not slow and not very fast either. It just fits the story so there were no dull moments.

What I like the most in the love story of Chloe and Matt was how it blossomed as friendship at first. That Kiss made me realized that the best foundation of a romantic relationship was friendship. Chloe and Matt were bestfriends so it was really easy for them to use the trust they had when they got together. This “trust” played an amazingly huge part in their relationship. With this, they can fight against all odds.

All in all, the book was quite exciting (especially the Kendall part.) and I was literally like this “:O” when I read the ending. It’s sweet and charming and romantic! I can’t wait to read That Promise!

MY RATING: 3 OF 5!!!

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen – review

The Truth About Forever
by Sarah Dessen

   9780142406250_TruthAboutFo_CV.indd

Genre: YA Contemporary, Romance, Realistic Fiction
Release Date: May 11, 2004

A long, hot summer…

That’s what Macy has to look forward to while her boyfriend, Jason, is away at Brain Camp. Days will be spent at a boring job in the library, evenings will be filled with vocabulary drills for the SATs, and spare time will be passed with her mother, the two of them sharing a silent grief at the traumatic loss of Macy’s father.

But sometimes, unexpected things can happen—things such as the catering job at Wish, with its fun-loving, chaotic crew. Or her sister’s project of renovating the neglected beach house, awakening long-buried memories. Things such as meeting Wes, a boy with a past, a taste for Truth-telling, and an amazing artistic talent, the kind of boy who could turn any girl’s world upside down. As Macy ventures out of her shell, she begins to question her sheltered life.

Is it really always better to be safe than sorry?

Quotes:

“It’s just that…I just think that some things are meant to be broken. Imperfect. Chaotic. It’s the universe’s way of providing contrast, you know? There have to be a few holes in the road. It’s how life is.”

“What you have to decide… is how you want your life to be. If your forever was ending tomorrow, would this be how you’d want to have spent it? Listen, the truth is, nothing is guaranteed. You know that more than anybody. So dont be afraid. Be alive.”

“Life can be long or short, it all depends on how you choose to live it. it’s like forever, always changing. for any of us our forever could end in an hour, or a hundred years from now. you can never know for sure, so you’d better make every second count. what you have to decide is how you want your life to be. if your forever was ending tomorrow, is this how you’d want to have spent it?”

“That was the thing. You just never knew. Forever was so many different things. It was always changing, it was what everything was really all about. It was twenty minutes, or a hundred years, or just this instant, or any instant I wished would last and last. But there was only one truth about forever that really mattered, and that was this: it was happening.”

REVIEW: (date read: May 8, 2014)

This is the first ever Sarah Dessen novel I’ve read and I could say that this started my addiction (in a good way, folks) to her novels. I love this book not only because of the characters (Wes will make you sa-wooon and Macy will make you want to give her strength to stand up for what she truly likes) but also because of the lesson about life it taught me. We always want our lives to be perfect, to go the way we planned it. but as Dessen said, sometimes in life, our plans may not go as we pleased, it may not be perfect, because once in a while, we need these imperfections to make us realize that it is okay to make mistakes whenever we take risks. There are times in love worth-risking for. Sometimes you just have to do it. Just like Kristy said, “you don’t think or plan. You just do it!”

Truth is an intriguing game to play. It could build a strong relationship out of it because you will the person just the way he/she is. There’s no barrier. Just Truth.

The Truth About Forever is written wisely. The characters are easy to relate to and love. This book has its own twists and turns which made me love it even more. All in all, it’s definitely a book to recommend to friends and family ❤

SARAH DESSEN is the author of twelve novels for young adults. All her novels have received literary nominations and awards. That Summer and Someone Like You were adapted for the movie How to Deal starring Mandy More. Sarah Dessen’s most recent novel is Saint Anything.

Sarah Dessen says, “As far back as I can remember, I’ve been writing. I’ve always had a wild imagination, and I love to embellish stories to make them more interesting. When I was a kid I created these intricate histories for all my stuffed animals and dollhouse families, which I would type out at this old manual typewriter my parents set up for me. I kept writing all through middle school, and in high school I got diverted a bit, but I picked it up again in college. I really didn’t think I’d actually be a writer – until I graduated and found that I just couldn’t stop and go get a real job. Even if I hadn’t sold a book by now, I’d still be writing. It becomes a part of you, just something you do.”

REVIEW: (spoiler near the end!!)

First of, thank you “Jasmine of jasminepearlreads” for the copy of this book! ❤

I’ve loved reading thriller books(like from Lisa Gardner) since I was in elementary school. There’s something exciting about all finding out all those mysteries and solving them! What You Left Behind is one of the best. I love how the story developed. It goes around the suicides of this rural village and how the residents cope with it. It’s new to me because there isn’t any romantic relationships centered(which I really hate sometimes because love will always be the flaw or the problem of the characters). It was all about the mystery of the suicides and someone saw something out of the box.

(spoiler!!) I was actually thinking that Frank was the one who killed the lads because from the start I knew it wasn’t a suicide. Just from the way he looks and acts, he could snap you in to two easily. Creepy. Gil was very fragile and special. I like him. The girl on the motorcycle with Dean was a mystery to me. I was guessing while reading it. I would not have guessed that it was Sonia. Wow. Just wow. I was surprised there. Haha

All in all, it was a good book with a promising plot. I thought it was a stand alone novel! turns out it’s part of the DCI Lorraine Fisher series! What You Left Behind will play with you through the end. It was equally thrilling and mysterious.

MY RATING: 4 OF 5!!!

“I grew up in the Midlands with my parents and younger brother. I always wanted to be a writer and pestered for my first typewriter when I was ten. It wasn’t a clear-cut path to my dream career and it took several decades longer to get there than I’d anticipated. But along the way I had many experiences, met a host of intriguing people, lived in several continents, and had my three beautiful children.

Over the years I’ve worked as a private investigator, bar maid, car cleaner, fruit picker, accounts clerk, nursery nurse, waitress…and I learnt to fly a plane before I could drive a car because for a while I wanted to be a pilot.

I travelled the world and spent an eye-opening time living on a kibbutz, where, having always written as a child and teenager, I was inspired to write longer fiction. After some more backpacking and a stint living in London, I moved to Australia for three years, having a glorious time in Brisbane and Melbourne.

Between 1991 and 1998 I had my children. I lived in the UK and the USA, where my youngest daughter was born. After Seattle, I returned to England, finally settling back in my home county of Warwickshire, where I’ve since renovated several old houses.

Throughout the years, I always strived to improve my writing. In 2003 I won a short story competition and subsequently had a novel published by a small independent press. It’s out of print now. Since 2007 I have had four novels published by Headline under the name Sam Hayes—BLOOD TIES, UNSPOKEN, TELL TALE and SOMEONE ELSE’S SON.”

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before & P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han – review

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
and P.S. I Still Love You are part of the NYT bestselling To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before duology by Jenny Han, the mind behind The Summer I Turned Pretty Trilogy and Burn for Burn for Burn Trilogy (with Siobhan Vivian).

Sooo what are these two novels that made girls swoon over the boys?

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
(To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before #1)
(genre: YA Contemporary)

LARA JEAN keeps her love letters in a hatbox her mother gave her. They aren’t love letters that anyone else wrote for her, these are ones she’s written. One for every boy she’s ever loved.

When she writes, she can pour out her heart and soul and say all the things she would never say in real life, because her letters are for her eyes only.

Until the day her secret letters are mailed, and suddenly Lara Jean’s love life goes from imaginary to out of control.

Favorite quote from the book: “When someone’s been gone a long time, at first you save up all the things you want to tell them. You try to keep track of everything in your head. But it’s like trying to hold on to a fistful of sand: all the little bits slip out of your hands, and then you’re just clutching air and grit.”

Review:

I really enjoyed reading this book because of the story itself. what would you do when all those letters you wrote to the boys you loved before where mailed to them? worse, they read it already! It’s intriguing and very teenage-y. but then good thing comes out of it. It gives off something new, something fresh, something we can swoon over. (I’m looking at you, Kavinsky) ❤

Of all the things I’ve loved about this book, my favorite would be the sisterly bond of the Song girls. The book portrayed the kind of family relationship if you trust and take care of each other. Yes, there might be some downs but if you really are that strong, you’ll stay for each other until the end. Another thing is Lara Jean. She’s a strong character, which I really really love. She knew her priorities in her life. She’s a very responsible girl which is a really good role model. I love Kitty the most, actually. Just by reading, you can get the vibe of that girl and it’s very funny and sweet.

For the boys, I’m rooting for Peter all the way!

P.S. I Still Love You
(To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before #2)
(genre: YA Contemporary)

Lara Jean didn’t expect to really fall for Peter.

They were just pretending. Until they weren’t. And now Lara Jean has to learn what it’s like to be in a real relationship and not just a make believe one.

But when another boy from her past returns to her life, Lara Jean’s feelings for him suddenly return, too.

Can a girl be in love with two boys at once?

Favorite quote/s from the book: “Sometimes I like you so much I can’t stand it. It fills up inside me, all the way to the brim, and I feel like I could overflow. I like you so much I don’t know what to do with it. My heart beats so fast when I know I’m going to see you again. And then, when you look at me the way you do, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.”

“People come in and out of your life. For a time they are your world; they are everything. And then one day they’re not. There’s no telling how long you will have them near.”

“Things feel like they’ll be forever, but they aren’t. Love can go away, or people can, without even meaning to. Nothing is guaranteed.”

Review: (SPOILERISH 😀 )

FINALLY! The second book! the letter for Peter! ughhh. it really made me excited you know. I have so much expectations for this book. Like really. You know when you’re rooting for your OTP and you feel like something wrong will happen. the freaking conflict!

When John entered, I knew I’ll like him. He got this vibe where you can feel that he really likes Lara Jean. He’s sweet and nice. I find it hard to choose between him and Peter. Especially when there were parts of their pasts revealed. (when he failed to ask Lara Jean for the dance formal). Peter, on the other hand, became a complicated character in this book. He’s like the embodiment of a typical jock. He’s still sweet in his own way, but he starts to make Lara Jean feel like she’s a second choice. which brings me to Lara Jean. She matured in this book, true. the way she handled the break-up and taking care of Kitty and her dad. Unfortunately, for me, she become this whinny girl. I still love Kitty the most! ❤

All in all, it’s good but something’s missing.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Trilogy!

The Summer I Turned Pretty (Summer #1)

Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer–they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one terrible and wonderful summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along.

It’s Not Summer Without You (Summer #2)

It used to be that Belly counted the days until summer, until she was back at Cousins Beach with Conrad and Jeremiah. But not this year. Not after Susannah got sick again and Conrad stopped caring. Everything that was right and good has fallen apart, leaving Belly wishing summer would never come.
But when Jeremiah calls saying Conrad has disappeared, Belly knows what she must do to make things right again. And it can only happen back at the beach house, the three of them together, the way things used to be. If this summer really and truly is the last summer, it should end the way it started–at Cousins Beach.

8680278We’ll Always Have Summer (Summer #3)

It’s been two years since Conrad told Belly to go with Jeremiah. She and Jeremiah have been inseparable ever since, even attending the same college– only, their relationship hasn’t exactly been the happily ever after Belly had hoped it would be. And when Jeremiah makes the worst mistake a boy can make, Belly is forced to question what she thought was true love. Does she really have a future with Jeremiah? Has she ever gotten over Conrad? It’s time for Belly to decide, once and for all, who has her heart forever.

Burn for Burn Trilogy
(co-written with Siobhan Vivian)

Burn for Burn (Burn for Burn #1)13406425

Postcard-perfect Jar Island is the kind of place where nobody locks their doors at night, where parents can sleep easy, knowing their daughters are tucked away safe and sound in their beds.

But bad things can happen, even to good girls, and sometimes the only way to make things right is do something wrong.

Lillia used to trust boys, but not anymore. Not after what happened this summer. And she’ll be damned if she lets the same thing happen to her little sister.

Kat is through with being called a freak. She’s over the rumors, the insults, the cruel jokes made at her expense. It all goes back to one person – her ex-best friend – and Kat’s ready to make her pay.

Four years ago, Mary left Jar Island because of a boy. But she’s not the same girl anymore. Now that she’s back, he’s gonna be in trouble . . . ’cause she’s coming for him.

Three very different girls who want the same thing: sweet revenge. And they won’t stop until they’ve each had a taste.

Fire with Fire (Burn for Burn #2)10662420

Lillia, Kat, and Mary had the perfect plan. Work together in secret to take down the people who wronged them. But things didn’t exactly go the way they’d hoped at the Homecoming Dance.

Not even close.

For now, it looks like they got away with it. All they have to do is move on and pick up the pieces, forget there ever was a pact. But it’s not easy, not when Reeve is still a total jerk and Rennie’s meaner than she ever was before.

And then there’s sweet little Mary…she knows there’s something seriously wrong with her. If she can’t control her anger, she’s sure that someone will get hurt even worse than Reeve was. Mary understands now that it’s not just that Reeve bullied her—it’s that he made her love him.

Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, burn for a burn. A broken heart for a broken heart. The girls are up to the task. They’ll make Reeve fall in love with Lillia and then they will crush him. It’s the only way he’ll learn.

It seems once a fire is lit, the only thing you can do is let it burn…

Ashes to Ashes (Burn for Burn #3) 10662433

New Year’s Eve ended with a bang and Mary, Kat and Lillia may not be prepared for what is to come.
After Rennie’s death, Kat and Lillia try to put the pieces together of what happened to her. They both blame themselves. If Lillia hadn’t left with Reeve… If Kat had only stayed with Rennie… Things could have been different. Now they will never be the same.
Only Mary knows the truth about that night. About what she is. She also knows the truth about Lillia and Reeve falling in love, about Reeve being happy when all he deserves is misery, just like the misery he caused her. Now their childish attempts at revenge are a thing of the past and Mary is out for blood. Will she leave anything in her wake or will all that remain be ashes?

SHUG is clever and brave and true (on the inside, anyway). And she’s about to become your new best friend.

Annemarie Wilcox, or Shug as her family calls her, is beginning to think there’s nothing worse than being twelve. She’s too tall, too freckled, and way too flat-chested. Shug is sure that there’s not one good or amazing thing about her. And now she has to start junior high, where the friends she counts most dear aren’t acting so dear anymore — especially Mark, the boy she’s known her whole life through. Life is growing up all around her, and all Shug wants is for things to be like they used to be. How is a person supposed to prepare for what happens tomorrow when there’s just no figuring out today?

The Heir (The Selection #4) by Kiera Cass – review

The Heir (The Selection #4)
by Kiera Cass

22918050Genre: Young Adult, Dystopia, Fiction
Release Date: May 5, 2015
Series: The Selection #4

Princess Eadlyn has grown up hearing endless stories about how her mother and father met. Twenty years ago, America Singer entered the Selection and won the heart of Prince Maxon—and they lived happily ever after. Eadlyn has always found their fairy-tale story romantic, but she has no interest in trying to repeat it. If it were up to her, she’d put off marriage for as long as possible.

But a princess’s life is never entirely her own, and Eadlyn can’t escape her very own Selection—no matter how fervently she protests.

Eadlyn doesn’t expect her story to end in romance. But as the competition begins, one entry may just capture Eadlyn’s heart, showing her all the possibilities that lie in front of her . . . and proving that finding her own happily ever after isn’t as impossible as she’s always thought.

Quotes:

“There are some things you don’t learn about yourself until you let someone else into the most intimate places of your heart.”

“You can be brave and still be feminine. You can lead and still love flowers.”

“When you know who matters most to you, giving things up, even yourself, doesn’t really feel like a sacrifice.”

REVIEW:

I don’t know if it is just my dislike over this type of novel or my high expectations. I’ve read the Selection series and I kinda like it. I like Eadlyn being a bitch sometimes but I don’t think it was portrayed quite well. i know she’s supposed to be the strong, independent lady in the book, but all I read was a spoiled, insensitive brat. i was expecting too much because The Selection series was quite good. i was hoping for more action and conflict in terms of the monarchy in The One. when it wasn’t given there, i hoped it will be in The Heir. but not. sometimes, I just want to punch Eadlyn. I hope the next book’s good.

My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga – review (*may contain spoilers, i think, and extreme feels :D )

My Heart and Other Black Holes
by Jasmine Warga

18336965

Genre: Young Adult Contemporary
Release Date: February 10, 2015

Sixteen-year-old physics nerd Aysel is obsessed with plotting her own death. With a mother who can barely look at her without wincing, classmates who whisper behind her back, and a father whose violent crime rocked her small town, Aysel is ready to turn her potential energy into nothingness.

There’s only one problem: she’s not sure she has the courage to do it alone. But once she discovers a website with a section called Suicide Partners, Aysel’s convinced she’s found her solution: a teen boy with the username FrozenRobot (aka Roman) who’s haunted by a family tragedy is looking for a partner.

Even though Aysel and Roman have nothing in common, they slowly start to fill in each other’s broken lives. But as their suicide pact becomes more concrete, Aysel begins to question whether she really wants to go through with it. Ultimately, she must choose between wanting to die or trying to convince Roman to live so they can discover the potential of their energy together. Except that Roman may not be so easy to convince.

Quotes:

“I once read in my physics book that the universe begs to be observed, that energy travels and transfers when people pay attention. Maybe that’s what love really boils down to – having someone who cares enough to pay attention so that you’re encouraged to travel and transfer, to make your potential energy spark into kinetic energy.”

“Life can seem awful and unfixable until the universe shifts a little and the observation point is altered, and then suddenly, everything seems more bearable.”

“It was fucking sad. That’s it. That’s the point. He knows life is never going to get any different for him. That there’s no fixing him. It’s always going to be the same monotonous depression bullshit. Boring, sad, boring, sad. He just wants it to be over.”

REVIEW:

How can I write a review about this amazing book when I’m still busy crying over the wonderful message this gave to me? I promise myself that everytime I read a good book, I would write how I feel about it. So this one, My Heart and Other Black Holes, is one of the best books I’ve read ever. It reached to me in different ways. Like how you can try to connect to other people about what you’re feeling. I felt connected to Aysel in some ways. I never give too much information about me because I felt like people will just break my trust over them. It makes me feel so independent when not talking about it. But sometimes, it will grow inside you like this black hole and when time comes, you’ll feel like you won’t be able to stop it from consuming you. I LOVE THIS BOOK. it gave me this strange feeling in my chest whenever I read about what they’re experiencing. It’s like this knot inside me starts to clench. I love that Aysel will help Roman out of this black hole inside him. I love that Roman was able to pull Aysel out of her own black hole. I love how connected they are – two teenagers who experienced bad things in their life tried to leave this world but the universe just won’t let them do it. I love what Jasmine Warga said that this book is about people who understand you, all of you, even the scariest and weirdest part you. I think that’s what makes us feel special. I love everything about this book. I know this book has an open ending but I’m hoping that Aysel and Roman will live as happy as they want to be. This goes to all the people who feel like they don’t belong: “You belong to this world. You are special. If you need to talk to someone, you can talk to me :)”

Thank you so much Jasmine Warga for this wonderful masterpiece 🙂 You gave me hope 🙂

MY RATING: 5 OF 5!!! 🙂

99 Days by Katie Cotugno – review

99 Days
by Katie Cotugno

22836575

Synopsis:

Day 1: Julia Donnelly eggs my house my first night back in Star Lake, and that’s how I know everyone still remembers everything—how I destroyed my relationship with Patrick the night everything happened with his brother, Gabe. How I wrecked their whole family. Now I’m serving out my summer like a jail sentence: Just ninety-nine days till I can leave for college, and be done.

Day 4: A nasty note on my windshield makes it clear Julia isn’t finished. I’m expecting a fight when someone taps me on the shoulder, but it’s just Gabe, home from college and actually happy to see me. “For what it’s worth, Molly Barlow,” he says, “I’m really glad you’re back.”

Day 12: Gabe got me to come to this party, and I’m actually having fun. I think he’s about to kiss me—and that’s when I see Patrick. My Patrick, who’s supposed to be clear across the country. My Patrick, who’s never going to forgive me.

Review:

This book is very different from other YA Contemporary novels we have today. I love Katie Cotugno’s How to Love, that’s why I had high hopes for this one. Fortunately, she did a good job.

I know it may be hard to write this novel because it tackles a kind of relationship that society disagrees with. In every fucked up relationship, the girl is the one who always takes (even though she doesn’t want to) all the blame. just like Molly in this story. She did sleep with her ex-boyfriend’s (at that time, they were together) brother which makes it very hard to feel sympathy for Molly. If we looked at it in a third person POV, for sure, we would all despise her, calling her different names (like they did in the story). Well, that was what I thought of her at first. but as the story continues, I realized that it wasn’t just Molly who should be blamed. They’re all part of it. It’s just a matter of the same sexist shit we all experience.

I like how the story progressed. It was bad choices after another but she reclaimed herself. One thing I really like in this story is Molly and Imogen’s friendship. Imogen stood up for Molly all the time unlike Julia who was a bitch (sorry!). You could really use a friend like her. In the end, we have decisions and choices to make. We shouldn’t let that part define our whole self. Stand up for yourself and move on.

My rating: 4 out of 5!!!

Before:
Reena Montero has loved Sawyer LeGrande for as long as she can remember: as natural as breathing, as endless as time. But he’s never seemed to notice that Reena even exists until one day, impossibly, he does. Reena and Sawyer fall in messy, complicated love. But then Sawyer disappears from their humid Florida town without a word, leaving a devastated—and pregnant—Reena behind.

After:
Almost three years have passed, and there’s a new love in Reena’s life: her daughter, Hannah. Reena’s gotten used to being without Sawyer, and she’s finally getting the hang of this strange, unexpected life. But just as swiftly and suddenly as he disappeared, Sawyer turns up again. Reena doesn’t want anything to do with him, though she’d be lying if she said Sawyer’s being back wasn’t stirring something in her. After everything that’s happened, can Reena really let herself love Sawyer LeGrande again?

In this breathtaking debut, Katie Cotugno weaves together the story of one couple falling in love—twice.
